Flooded

It's unseasonably wet at the moment; the non-stop rain in addition to the added water flowing down from its source in Czéstochowa, the river Warta has flooded. This is not an unusual occurrence in the late spring / early summer time.

The woodlands around the river have turned into marsh. This area is very popular for fisherman during the time that the river isn't flooded. The Warta's water quality level has recently been raised, though I personally wouldn't like to eat anything from it :)

The bridge above is for cars, trams and pedestrians. When the river is not flooded, it is possible to walk past the set of pillars you can see in this image. The flooding ends at the third flood defense barrier here, where it's about 25cm deep, up to about a meter deep close to the pillars. You can see significant numbers of small spawning fish around the edge of the barrier and as you look out, until the water becomes too murky, you can occasionally catch a glimpse of larger fish.
